Our
unparalleled experience with conversions
has produced a proven methodology that
drives the design of our software from beginning to end.
We use what you already have. Since source and target systems are
generally in production environments, they're invested with many
reusable components, including record definitions for data files,
I/O routines, calculation routines, tables, and utilities. UCT's
methodology integrates these components into the conversion process.
You choose the platform. Whether you're going host-to- host, host
-to-LAN, or even LAN-to- host, our methodology allows you to build
and run the conversion on the platforms where the source and target
systems live, even with multiple source system platforms and multiple
target system platforms. UCT's methodology does not force you to
move host systems and data to the PC to use the tools. Our generated
programs compile on any platform that supports COBOL.
UCT supports all standard transaction formats. Our robust mapping
technology maps data from multiple sources and source types to
multiple targets and target types. Using your system's existing
business layer, our mapping functionality supports transaction-oriented
conversions, allowing you to build transactions in all standard
formats including keywords, freeforms, etc. Our tools accurately
capture time-driven history of business records during the conversion
process.
Every step of the way, your subject matter experts use our tools.
UCT's conversion methodology does not require a "tools expert" on
your staff. Your subject matter experts describe the data transformation
rules and conditions, and then our software will generate the programs.
How It Works
- First,
your SMEs map source records to target fields, using our web-enabled
Data Conversion Architect. This step creates the finished data
maps. These maps, reusable in other conversion
projects, organize and document your conversion.
UCT's Data Maps are the raw material that UCT's tools use
to create the actual conversion code.
- Data
Analysis rules imbedded in the data map verify the quality
of source data formats and conformity to your business rules.
- Reports
are produced throughout the conversion process to keep every fully
informed of progress.
- UCT's
CONVERSION TOOLS generate the programs to convert, reformat,
audit,
and balance your data.
